RED FLIP-FLOPS, sold

I'm back. Finally. Today I finally got to spend a few unrushed hours in the studio, doing a few 5x7's. I actually find it restful to do the little ones. And it gives me a real sense of accomplishment to get something done without laboring and fretting.

The beach scenes I'll be putting up are from my recent trip to Daytona Beach, where I taught a 3 day workshop. How wonderful it was to be woken up by the crashing waves and the beautiful sunrises. I hated leaving.

If any of you out there attended my opening at River Gallery this past Saturday evening, and wondered where the heck I was...I was sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic, backed up from Chattanooga well into Georgia. A semi overturned in the rush hour rain, and blocked all traffic for hours. After fighting our way through several lanes, wedging our way between semi's, we (my husband, Ben, and my sister, Emily) finally arrived at the gallery thirty minutes before the show ended. The crowd (if there was one) had dwindled to 6 people. How miserable I would have been had the gallery been empty. My thanks to you 6 who stayed so late. The evening turned out really nice though, with drinks and good conversation with Mimi and John afterward. It was well worth the trouble.
